Botswana president resumes duty after completing self-isolation

Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi has resumed duty after completing self-isolation.

In a statement, Acting Permanent Health Secretary, John Thomas Dipowe says doctors have given him a clean bill of health and is now free of the virus.

”There is no evidence of any acute medical complications since he contracted the disease. To this end, His Excellency the President has since resumed duty,” Dipowe said in a statement.

The fully vaccinated 59-year-old leader entered into a mandatory self-isolation early last week at his official residence situated in the country’s capital city of Gaborone after testing positive for COVID-19.
