Amason Kingi’s PAA ditches Azimio for Kenya Kwanza

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi’s Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party has officially ditched the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition for the Deputy President William Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Kingi made the announcement on Tuesday, terming the move as one driven by Kenyans’ needs and not individual interests of top politicians.

Kingi said he had walked out of the Raila Odinga-led Azimio outfit due to a myriad of issues, among them “mysterious deals” within the camp.

While terming the new deal as a win for people in the Coast region, Kingi noted that it would ensure representation of coastal people in high profile public service if the team ascends to power in the upcoming August General Election.

He further vowed to address marginalization of the coast region, land injustices, as well as tapping the blue economy to benefit locals.

On his part, DP Ruto welcomed PAA to his “conmanship”-free fold, saying that all constituent parties within his alliance were treated with respect and openness.
