Former Assistant Inspector-General of Police Willy Lugusa dies

Former Assistant Inspector-General of Police Willy Lugusa has died. Lugusa died on Monday while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital.

The National Police Service announced his death on Tuesday afternoon via social media.

However, they did not give more details about his death.

Willy Lugusa retired from the service in March 2021.

IG Hillary Mutyambai said Lugusa was admired by Junior and senior officers both uniformed and civilian as generous, cheerful, and friendly to those who had an opportunity to work with him.

“We convey our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and relatives of  Lugusa during this difficult period of mourning,” he said.
